DESCRIPTION OF ORGANISATION
Altes Gymnasium Oldenburg (AGO) is a secondary school in a middle size city, surrounded by a rural area. Founded in 1573, AGO's school aim is to link traditional values and modern topics: „Wagen und Bewahren: Conserve the heritage and be open to the future“. Latin is studied as well as modern languages, economics, science and a wide range of music ensembles, choirs, big band, string classes and orchestras. One of AGO's school principles includes „building bridges to our neighbours“.
AGO's role in the project: AGO will focus on bringing foreign languages together.
Specific social context: AGO is a Gymnasium. In recent times the range of social and economic status of the pupils is widely expanded, and many students have a migrational background: integrating them is a challenge. AGO school aims call it: „Understand each other; respect each other; help each other.“
